2021 Speaker Bios

Lisa Ordóñez, Dean and Stanley and Pauline Foster Endowed Chair, Rady School of Management, University of California San Diego

Ordóñez became the dean of the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego in 2019. As dean of the Rady School, Ordóñez will apply her operational skills to lead the school and build on the strong foundation laid by founding Dean Robert Sullivan.  As the second dean of the Rady School, she intends to transition the school from a start-up to focus on growth and further cement the school’s global business research prominence and impact as an innovation focused, economic engine within the San Diego business community and beyond.

Previously, she was a professor in the Department of Management & Organizations and Marketing in the Eller College at the University of Arizona since 1994 and served as vice dean from 2015 to 2019. She received all of her degrees at the University of California Berkeley: Bachelor’s in psychology (1988); Master’s in marketing (1992); Ph.D. (1994) in quantitative psychology.

Alfonzo Alexander, Chief Ethics and Diversity Officer, NASBA President, NASBA Center for the Public Trust

Alfonzo Alexander serves as chief ethics and diversity officer of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) and president of NASBA’s Center for the Public Trust (CPT). As chief ethics and diversity officer, Alexander oversees strategic diversity initiatives and ethics compliance for the organization, while facilitating a number of special projects working with the CEO.

Alexander became president of the CPT in January 2012. In his role as CPT President, Alexander oversees this ethics and leadership organization’s day-to-day operations and a growing number of CPT programs. Under his leadership, the CPT has cultivated new partnerships and built programs on nearly 100 college and university campuses across the United States, established Ethical Leadership Certification and Training Programs, and grown its Being a Difference Award Program extensively. Alexander joined NASBA in 2006 as a staff director and vice president of the CPT. It was during this time, Alexander developed the strategic plan for the CPT.

Prior to joining NASBA, Alexander served as the regional manager and managing director for the Southeast Region of INROADS, Inc., where he led operations and business development in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. He joined INROADS as managing director of its Memphis office and experienced progressive growth throughout his tenure there. Before joining INROADS, Alexander held several leadership positions in operations management and human resources at the Quaker Oats Company.

In 2015, Alexander rebranded his consultancy to Proventus Leadership Group, LLC. Through this business, Alexander and his team provide leadership and strategic business consulting and training services for companies throughout the United States.

Alexander is a business school graduate of Tennessee Tech University. He also earned an MBA from Lipscomb University, and completed an Executive Leadership Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Alexander is certified through several organizations as a facilitator and is a certified professional coach through Coach Training Alliance. In 2017, he received the Distinguished Alumni award from Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business, and in 2019, he was featured in the February edition of Southwest The Magazine.

Alexander has a passion for working in the community. Currently, he serves on the audit and executive committees of the board of directors for the Memorial Foundation. He is the immediate past-chairman of the board for the 100 Black Men of Middle TN. He is also a graduate of Leadership Nashville. Because of his commitment to education, Alexander serves on the Board of Visitors for the Lipscomb University College of Business, the International Board of Governors of Beta Gamma Sigma, Metropolitan Nashville Public Education Foundation, and the Sponsor Advisory Group for the PhD Project. Additionally, Alexander is a board member for the New Level Community Development Corporation, Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Middle TN (past chairman), Youth Encouragement Services (advisory board & past president) and is a former member of the Metropolitan Nashville Sports Authority Board of Directors.

Ryan Hirsch, M.Ed., Senior Director for Surgent Accounting & Financial Education 

Ryan Hirsch serves as a Senior Director for Surgent Accounting & Financial Education (a division of KnowFully Learning Group). In this role, he leads the University Partnership team, which provides accounting and finance related educational solutions to students, professors and other higher education related organizations. Hirsch serves on the Professional Partners Committee for Beta Alpha Psi, and he has more than 15 years of experience working in the accounting, healthcare and education industries. He is passionate about training and development for both students and professionals.

Mr. Hirsch earned his Master of Education degree in Leadership and Organizational Performance from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. Hirsch obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Communications from Clark Atlanta University.

Before joining Surgent, Mr. Hirsch served as the Vice President for NASBA’s Center for the Public Trust (CPT), where he worked to develop and promote ethical business leaders. He also worked in the Strategic Marketing Department of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and in the Communications Department of NASBA. Although he was born and raised in Nashville, TN, Mr. Hirsch currently lives in Ponte Vedra, Florida. In his spare time, he enjoys watching sports, going to the beach and spending time with friends and family. He and his wife, Lauren, have one daughter (Juliana) and twin boys (Collin and Caden).

Ashley Metivier, Student Programs Manager for the NASBA Center for the Public Trust

Ashley Metivier serves as the Student Programs Manager for the NASBA Center for the Public Trust (CPT). She is responsible for all student- related activities such as establishing new school partnerships and developing strategic plans to ensure program success. In this role, Ashley manages operations, marketing and promotions for programs like, the StudentCPT Chapter Program, Ethics In Action Video Competition, Ethical Leadership Certification Program, Campus Being a Difference Awards and StudentCPT Leadership Conference. Before transitioning into this role, Ashley served as Activity Coordinator and Business Development Specialist for the CPT where she promoted the organization’s products and services, developed strategic sales and marketing plans with the Vice President and President, built relationships with customers and advanced ethics education.

Prior to joining the CPT, Ashley worked at Viacom- Country Music Television (CMT) where she coordinated guest and talent logistics, planned employee appreciation days, designed facility upgrades and managed internal events.

Previously, she worked as a Chapter Consultant for Phi Mu Fraternity. She created strategic plans and led workshops focused around the topics of; public relations, communications, finance, recruitment, leadership development, academic excellence, risk management and social planning for over 40 chapters across the United States.

A Georgia native, Ashley received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with concentrations in both Public Relations and Broadcast Media from Georgia College & State University in 2013.

Ashley mentors aspiring college students in the TNAchieves Scholarship Program, serves at Youth Encouragement Services, works with Meals on Wheels and is a Network Under 40 ambassador.
