CPT Launches New StudentCPT Chapter at Western Kentucky
The StudentCPT is proud to welcome Western Kentucky University to the StudentCPT family. Western Kentucky University is located in Bowling Green, KY and represents the second StudentCPT chapter in Kentucky, along with the University of Kentucky.
Two student leaders from Western Kentucky, Isabel Gott and James Hill, attended the 2017 StudentCPT Leadership Conference, and that experience helped prepare them to lead their new chapter. These students will work alongside Chapter Advisors, Cecile Garmon and Evelyn Thrasher, to help promote ethical decision-making and ethical leadership on campus.
The meeting began with an introduction from Gott and Hill, who spoke about their experience at the leadership conference. Then, Jeff Katz, who serves as the Dean of the Business School, spoke about the importance of emphasizing and promoting ethics on the campus of Western Kentucky University.
Then, NASBA CPT Operations Director, Ryan Hirsch, served as the keynote speaker and helped students understand why good intentions are not always enough to avoid becoming involved in ethical misconduct. Hirsch provided students will case examples of ethical dilemmas, challenged students to share how they would respond, then discussed the pros and cons of each response.
The CPT is grateful for the support of Dean Katz, Cecile Garmon and Evelyn Thrasher for all the support they provided in helping with the establishment of this chapter.
