CPT Launches 40th StudentCPT Chapter at MNSU

MNSU Mankato StudentCPT Chapter Kickoff – November 6, 2017

The StudentCPT is proud to welcome Minnesota State University Mankato (MNSU) to the StudentCPT family. MNSU is located in Mankato, MN and represents the first StudentCPT chapter in Minnesota.

NASBA CPT Operations Director, Ryan Hirsch, served as the keynote speaker for this event and helped students understand why good intentions are not always enough to avoid becoming involved in ethical misconduct.

Approximately 75 students attended the chapter kickoff meeting, along with 10 professionals from the local business community. Throughout the presentation, students shared their thoughts on the best ways to resolve ethical dilemmas, while also receiving insight from Dr. Brenda Flannery (Dean, College of Business) and other professionals in attendance, who shared how they would manage these dilemmas in their organizations.

The CPT appreciates the hard work and dedication of Chapter Advisor, Dr. Connie O’Brien, who led the charge to bring the StudentCPT to MNSU. Dr. O’Brien selected two student leaders (Amina Diawara and Genie Short) to attend the 2017 StudentCPT Leadership Conference, and that experience helped prepare them to lead their new chapter. After getting back to campus this fall, Amina and Genie worked alongside other students including Chapter President: Marisa Milton; Secretary: Bridgit O’Brien; and Director of Information Services: Brittany O’Brien to help establish the chapter and recruit new members on campus. After interacting with the students, professors and administrators at MNSU, the CPT is confident that this chapter will soon reach the Golden Star Chapter Performance Level.
